Marc Pujol

He was born in Barcelona, studied Architecture and he got the piano
teacher qualification in the Academia Ars Nova. At the same time, he
studied violin and choral direction. He started his singing studies with
Montserrat Pueyo and later with Maty Pinkas, Professor in the Higher
State Singing Academy of Sofia (Bulgary).
He has taken part in “l´Académie Internationale d´Eté de Nice” and
has received a grant to take part in “l´Académie Musicale de
Villecroze” to work with Lorraine Nubar , teacher in the Julliard School
of New York, in 2008 semifinalist in Operalia and finalist in Boris
Christoff international competition, where he will sing Zaccaria from
Nabuco (Verdi) in Sofia Opera Theater.
During the 2006/2007 he has studied and worked in the Bayerisches
Staatsoper München, where he has carried out as main role the
German version of La pietra del paragone de Rossini, Die Liebesprobe
and several solist colaborations.
In song, he has specialized in German lied, French and Russian song.
He has worked the German lied and the French song with Dalton
Baldwin and he has carried out several recitals, standing out in his
repertory Dichterliebe from Schumann, Vier Ernste Gesänge from J.
Brahms, Michelangelo-lieder from Wolf, D. Qichotte from Ibert and
Songs and Dances of Death from Mussorgski.
As oratorio soloist, he has song the Verdi Requiem, Messiah of
Haendel, Ein Deutsches Requiem Brahms, the Coronation Mass, the
Mass in c m KV 427, the Requiem from W. A. Mozart with “Orquesta i
Cor del Gran Teatre del Liceu” where recently had worked in
L´incoronatione di Poppea from Monteverdi, Die Schöpfung from
Haydn, the petite messe solennelle from Rossini, the Orfeo from
Haydn with the “Orquesta Sinfónica de Granada” and he has taken
part in the XIIIª Schubertiada of Vilabertrán singing the Mass in G
from Schubert D.167.
In the opera, he has performed Ferrando (Trovatore, Verdi), Zaccaria
(Nabuco, Verdi),Il Re (Aida, Verdi), Leporello from Mozart (D. Giovanni),
D. Basilio from Rossini (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Colline from Puccini
(Bohème), Banco (Macbeth, Verdi) Oroveso from Bellini (Norma), Le
Comte Des Grieux from Massenet (Manon), Don Magnifico (La
Cenerentola Rossini) Le Duc de Vérone from Gounoud (Romeo and
Julliet), Un ballo in maschera, Sprecher from Mozart (Zauberflöte),
Truffaldin (Ariadne auf Naxos, Strauss) Colas from Mozart (Bastian
und Bastianne) and Dido and Aeneas from Purcell. He has worked in
the opera-ballet Pulcinella from Igor Stravinsky and he has performed
for the first time “El Mercader de Somnis” from Salvador Brotons,
conducted for the same composer, and Die Erste Liebe Musik Theater
für Jugendliche from Minas Borbouakis. Recently, he has performed
the role of Rei Barbut, “La filla del Rei Barbut” from Matilde Salvador
and Tiresias in Oedipos Rex from Strawinsky in Madrid.
He has been conducted for Kent Nagano, Ivor Bolton, Daniel Oren,
Michael Boder, Christopher Hogwood, Antoni Ros-Marbà, Victor-Pablo
Pérez, Harry Bicket, José RamónEncinar, Patrick Fournillier, Harry
Bicket working in Gran Teatre del Liceo, Bayerisches Staatsoper
Munich, Auditorio Nacional Madrid, Auditorio Barcelona, Palau de la
Música Catalana, Barcelona,…
He has taken part of the “Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música
Catalana” with the direction of Jordi Casas, where he has performed
different collaborations as soloist and the recording of the Taltabull
Chinese Songs.
